Squish & Stitch with Jun Yang

Squish and Stitch (숨, Sum) is a playful workshop where painting, sewing, and storytelling come together.

Using fabric, paint, stuffing, and thread, you’ll create your own one of a kind soft sculpture or mini pillow. Paint a portrait of someone you love, your favorite pet, a flower, or anything that feels meaningful to you. Then stitch and stuff your piece, giving it shape, softness, and a story. Take it home or gift it to someone special.

The workshop begins with a short introduction by artist Jun Yang, who will share the inspiration behind their work before demonstrating a few simple techniques. From there, you’re invited to experiment, play, and create at your own pace. No sewing or art experience is needed, and there’s absolutely no pressure to make something “perfect.” This workshop is about slowing down, enjoying the process, and expressing care through making.

Jun is also the featured artist behind The Sun Is Here, their current solo exhibition at A Loft of One’s Own, making this a special opportunity to create alongside the artist and experience their work in a more personal way.
